INTRODUCTION

The Tiempos Foundation was established in 2001 at the initiative of a group of Argentine archaeologists interested in fostering a better comprehension and preservation of the multiple paths followed by past peoples, with a view of enabling a better future by weaving together both academic and popular knowledges and practices.

The establishment of the Foundation was possible thanks to a selfless and generous donation made by Carlos A. Aschero, after winning the Bunge y Born Prize (2001) for his trajectory in Archaeology.

The main aims of the Tiempos Foundation are the following:

  1. To work for the protection, sustainable management, dissemination, knowledge and development of the investigations on the archaeological, anthropological, historic and documentary heritage, as well as of its environment.
  2. To support and train those institutions, groups or individuals whose objectives include activities related to the research, salvage, revalorisation, promotion and diffusion of Archaeology and cognate disciplines

The Tiempos Foundation has legal entity status (N° 560/01 in date 19-11-2001, Exte. 5126/11-02-2001), and it has been recently awarded tax-exempt status (AFIP Certificado N° 942/2017/017686/1).
